What We Provide
The Trauma Recovery/Rape Treatment Center (TRC/RTC) offers confidential medical and mental health services to adults who have experienced sexual assault who reside in San Francisco and/or were sexually assaulted in San Francisco. There is no cost for these services. Medical services are provided 24/7 at the San Francisco General Hospital Emergency Department (SFGH ED) by a nurse practitioner or physician assistant specialist from TRC/RTC. Any adult who believes they have experienced a sexual assault can go to the SFGH ED for medial care, forensic evidence collection, and mental health evaluation.
Mental health services may also be provided to other victims, including but no limited to, victims of domestic violence, gunshot and stabbing incidents, motor vehicle crimes, and family members of murder victims if the patient is being seen and treated at SFGH or has a primary care physican in the Community Health Network.
