Services for Survivors of Torture

Survivors International provides clinical mental health and social service support for refugee, asylee and asylum-seeking survivors of torture. SI provides services through a multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, nurse practitioners and volunteers.

Specifically, we provide the following services:

  • Individual psychotherapy for adults
  • Forensic psychological and medical evaluations for asylum
  • Psychiatric medication management and counseling
  • Clinical Support Groups
  • Speaker’s Bureau
  • Medical consultation and referrals for primary care
  • Links to local agencies that provide assistance for food, shelter, education, and employment
  • One-on-one support with day-to-day living needs and accompaniment to appointments
  • Ongoing case management to ensure that each survivor gets what he/she needs to heal and thrive
  • Tutoring available to Survivors International clients
